Michigan MGM Grand to Feature Poker Room

On August 7th, 2007, the MGM Grand announced to the public that they will feature a high roller poker room as part of their grand opening on October 2nd, 2007. Who would have thought that Michigan was considered the new Las Vegas?

With the public announcement of the inaugural automated poker room at the Four Winds Casino Resort in New Buffalo, Michigan and with the announcement of the plans for a luxury poker room at the MGM Grand Detroit, the state of Michigan is fast becoming the center of the poker industry.

The brand new MGM Grand Detroit is expected to open by October 2nd, 2007 and will be Detroit's foremost first class hotel and casino facility with 400 rooms as well as a substantial number of ordinary suites and VIP suites.

Guests and Visitors can also enjoy a health spa, nightclub and top class dining services. The new poker room at the MGM Grand will feature eight gaming tables but there are no final plans regarding the gaming offerings. There will be a 42 inch flat screen television that will be placed in every room.

In a city that cannot sell their real estate assets because of a lackluster economy, a top class hotel and casino might seem a questionable choice. The hotel and casino facility will provide 3,000 jobs and will be a good plan toward making Detroit a good choice for businesses to relocate.
