PokerTek Debuts Poker Tables at World Series of Poker Main Event

On June 14, 2007, some innovative and important marketing strategy behind a great element scheduled to be launched next month took place during the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event.

PokerTek, which has manufactured a new electronic poker table that does not need any live dealer and just uses computer screens for each player and speeds up game play efficiently, has collaborated with the Word Series of Poker officials to feature the game during a heads-up showdown between the top poker professionals.

Both Antonio Esfandiari and Phil "Unabomber" Laak will participate in a Texas Hold'em poker game using the new PokerTek table at the main event of the WSOP on July 5, 2007.

Some arrangements have also been made for the product to be introduced at the Gaming Life Expo held along with the World Series of Poker, giving the visitors at the Gaming Life Expo the chance to test the product themselves.

The Expo is also a good activity and venue to advertise the product. PokerTek President, James Crawford, said that many people love to participate in a heads-up poker game because it is fast paced and the competition is intense.

Making the PokerTek product is a logical step for their company. PokerTek's plans in the near future include the placement of electronic poker tables in pubs and restaurants.

The company is also currently negotiating a co-branding agreement with the WSOP. Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack, the director of the tournament, said that such a move will have a positive effect to the relationship of both organizations.
