Ramzi Jelassi Wins the PokerStars Italian Poker Tour San Remo 2

Swedish poker player Ramzi Jelassi won the PokerStars Italian Poker Tour San Remo 2 title on August 30th, 2009, taking home a total of 170,000 euros in the process. The RedKings Team Pro member said that it was an excellent game. He said that he had queens as his best hand in the game, which he lost, but never any kings or aces. Jelassi said that he also had a bit of luck especially when he faced all-in situations during the tournament.

A total of 368 individuals participated at the IPT San Remo 2 creating a 713,920 euros cash pool. After 2 days of play, Jelassi grabbed the chip lead into the event's otherwise all-Italian final poker table. The biggest card hand at the San Remo tournament came with Jelassi all in the heads-up match against Andrea Sapere. Jelassi flopped a set of 4's against the ace-7 of Sapere, grabbing ninety percent of the chips in play.

The title was Jelassi's when his king-seven edged out the queen-ten of Sapere. RedKings Live Events Manager Jerry Land said that they know what Ramzi is capable of during a game and they are very happy for Ramzi. Land said that it is not often a player gets such a terrific opportunity as Ramzi had for the final day. He added Jelassi dominated the final table with his solid and aggressive style.

Like most of the European poker circuit, EPT Barcelona is the next stop for Jelassi starting on September 4th, 2009. The next IPT event will be at the Perla Casino in Nova Gorica, Slovenia on October 8th, 2009-October 12th, 2009 with a similar 2,000 euros+200 euros buy-in.
